February 2026 Newsletter

Hello Fellow Art Collectors and Oddity & Curiosity Aficionados!

You’re receiving this newsletter because you either are an artist here or visited my store, Margeaux Wex Gallery in Dalton, Georgia, and signed up to hear about all things art, oddities, curiosities, and collectibles.

In this first issue, we’re shining the spotlight on artist Ruth Pearl, whose acrylic and multi-media creations capture everything from pets to the oddity of human faces. My personal favorite being “Surprise Encounter” — affectionately known as “Miss Squiggly Eyes”(seen below). You’ll get to read about Ruth and her inspiration in the Artist Spotlight section below.

But that’s not all! I'm also including a new, humorous story I wrote for your personal enjoyment: “Do You Feel Hairy, Punk?” — a North Georgia twist on Bigfoot as Dirty Harry as well as the artwork I created some months back of the same name. Hopefully, it brightens your day and gives you a chuckle.

And of course, you’ll find:

  • A display of some new items in the store
  • A weird fact to impress (or horrify) your friends
  • An exclusive special offer for newsletter subscribers

Weird Fact

Victorian women often wore jewelry made of their loved ones’ hair. It was a mourning practice—but also a wearable keepsake. Definitely sentimental, but alarming at dinner parties. Nothing says eternal devotion like a lock of braided hair from Uncle Harold’s mustache.
